The GGJ starts at the Art Institute of Portland, with the keynote and prompt at 5:00 pm on Friday. January 23, 2015. Participants will work round the clock for 48 hours and include artists, musicians, game developers, programmers, designers, writers, etc. The space is open to all – don’t be shy – this is your opportunity to work with others to create a game in 48 hours.
Participation Directions
To register, log in/create an account on the Global Game Jam website (http://globalgamejam.org/). If you already have a Global Game Jam account, visit our jam site (http://globalgamejam.org/2015/jam-sites/art-institute-portland-w-pigsquad) and select “Join This Jam Site” to the right of the site’s title. If you create a new account, you will be prompted to join a site after entering your information. Find “The Art Institute of Portland w/ PIGSquad,” select that site, then confirm that your username appears in our jam members (http://globalgamejam.org/2015/jam-sites/art-institute-portland-w-pigsquad/members). If more than 90 people come and plan to stay on site, Global Game Jam site registrants will be accepted first, then pigsquad.com registrants, then PIGsquad Facebook group registrants, then first-come-first served. Transportation and Location There is parking on the street, and under the AI building. The address is: Portland Art Institute, rooms 263, (202, and 201) 1122 NW Davis Street Portland Oregon, 97211.

Will Lewis is a game developer and community organizer for game-related groups in Portland, Oregon. In April of 2011, he founded the Portland Indie Game Squad, bringing together a community of all walks of gamedev to provide events, resources, and professional opportunities to the greater Portland area. He is also a co-founder and co-director of Pixel Arts Game Education, providing games learning, positive peer and adult mentorship, and technology access opportunities to underserved and underrepresented youth in Portland. He often speaks at schools, meetup events, and game conferences on community organizing or games learning and is credited in Cartoon Network’s Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake for design.
