Andrew’s talk will cover aspects of creating “Finding Nemo” such as story, character design, and animation. He will also cover his process as an animator. In this he will cover pre-production, acting, work methods, inspiration and layering of detail.
The lecture will go from 1:00PM until 3:00PM followed by a Q&A session. Additionally animators are welcome to bring work in order to get a critique. Individual scenes are preferred over full Stories. DVD, VHS, AVI and QuickTime movies with a commonly available Codec are acceptable formats to bring.
Andrew Gordon Andrew Gordon has been animating characters professionally for ten years. He joined Pixar Animation Studios in 1997 where he has been an animator on A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, and Finding Nemo. He was the lead animator on the character “Mike Wazowski” for “Monsters, Inc.” Andrew is currently working on “The Incredibles” which is due for release on November 5, 2004. Prior to Pixar, Andrew worked in the Looney Tunes division of Warner Bros. Andrew studied animation at Vancouver School of Animation. He was recently awarded ” Outstanding Character Animation in an Animated Motion Picture” by the Visual Effects Society for his work in Finding Nemo.
