with Portland’s own PIG Squad
Come Jam with fellow game designers over the weekend of January 27–29, 2012. This is your opportunity to make a locally produced game in 48 hours! The GGJ (Global Game Jam) has many different groups around the world creating games, playing, and focusing intensely on a full weekend of game development. This year, the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) Portland experience is at the Art Institute and organized by Will Lewis of the Portland Indie Game Squad (PIG Squad). There are two computer labs and one chill / food room reserved continuously for 48 hours. Details:
- game creation limited to 50 registrants — so register now if you want to participate;
- teams will be formed on site at the beginning of the event;
- all game mediums are welcome (board, video, traditional);
- anyone, 16 years or older, may participate;
- no entrance fee;
- available tools: computers with Unity, UDK, Adobe Suite, Maya/Max, Office Suite;
- on-site security and auditorium space available.
Light snacks will be available in the side room. Interviews and input for the SIGGRAPH newsletter will be conducted or collected on Friday evening.
