Jeff Borg, Demetra Gilmore Arnett, Fran Zandonella, Herc Silverstein

Andrew Dennis dropped off the Financial Report and then went home sick.

Minutes

Minutes from August (8/17/06) and September (9/7/06) have not been approved.

Old Business

Banners (was Logos)

Now that we have decided on a logo, we can order our banner.

* Demetra will do the layout for a banner and coordinate with

Michael Smith about getting it printed.  Hopefully, we can have

it before the next meeting.

Volunteers

We need volunteers.  We need a volunteer coordinator!

Demetra needs volunteers for the November 1 meeting:

a person to coordinate registration, volunteers for

the doors and attendance tracking, and a volunteer to

handle the drawing.

* Demetra will email the volunteer list to solicit volunteers.

Fran needs someone to handle the website so she can concentrate

on Secretary stuff and membership.  She wants to post to

craigslist and to our jobs and announcement list.

* Fran will write up a description and send it to Jeff & the Board.

* Everyone needs to get their volunteer list to Jeff.

This topic was skipped since Andrew was absent.

Notes for future meetings:

·         We need to make sure to record the starting number

for the tickets for attendance tracking.

·         We need to prepare (have a longer lead time) for

drawings better.

September Meeting, Electronic Theatre, September 21, 2006

We had 130 people attend this event.

The cost of the meeting was $278.

We got 18 new memberships.

This was a really great meeting.  The food was the right amount,

and we had enough volunteers.  The drinks were good.

Michael Smith contributed them.  The slideshow worked out well.

Thank you, Eddie’s Pizza!

We took some officer pictures at the meeting so we can put them

on the web.

* Demetra will get the pictures and send them to Fran to put

them on the web.

* Demetra will give Fran and Jeff a list of the places we send

our PR too.

* Demetra will send Fran the slideshow in a format to put up on

the web.

* Demetra will send Fran a list of our supporters so she can add

them to the website.

November Meeting (was October), AutoDesk Tour

(presented by 3DV), November 1, 2006

Producer: Chris Hale

This event is coming together.  Chris has done a great job.

Autodesk is paying for everything.  It is a free event.

The event is being held at Forestry Center, in Cheatham

Hall which holds 200 people.

Demetra needs someone to coordinate registration.  We also need

a volunteer to do a drawing.

* Jeff will contact 3DV about the drawing.

* Fran will send Demetra and Jeff her contact info for Wacom.

* Demetra will send email to the volunteer list seeking volunteers.

Fran won’t be at the meeting.

Here are the things that need to be taken care of to

cover Fran’s absence:

·         Bring the membership lists.

* Fran will send Jeff and Andy new membership lists

1 day before the event (Oct 31st)

·         Bring the membership forms.

* Fran will send the membership form word document to Jeff.

November Meeting, Social with IXDA / CHIFOO / SIGGRAPH / ASIFA,

Producer: Will Palumbo

We need to set the date for this meeting.  The date proposed is

November 15, 2006.  This will need to be confirmed with the other groups.

* Demetra will check with the producer of this meeting

(Will Palumbo) to get the final date.

We also need a location for this event.  What about at the

Lucky Lab?  To rent their spare room is $100.  (However,

the Bridgeport Brewery has rooms available for free.)

* Jeff will speak with the Lucky Lab about getting them to waive the fee.

Genny Orr met Professor Perlin at a conference and asked

if he would speak at Willamette University and a SIGGRAPH

meeting. He said he would.  Now we need to figure out a

good date for this.

Demetra has a connection to Tom Miller.

Traveling Art Show (TAS)

Membership

We now have about 85 members.  Fran still needs to process those.

Our renewals are starting to go out.

Financial Report

Our balance is $2059.81.  We made $973.00 at the September meeting.

The September meeting expenses were $514.02.

* Andy will make a budget for the year.

Website

Fran says, “We need to get a webmaster ASAP!”

* Fran will write up a description and send it to Jeff & the Board.

* Everyone still needs to put their web requirements on the wiki.
